Teacher. I have over 20 years of experience teaching English, history, and world religions at high-school and college levels. I’m particularly interested in student choice, fantasy and sci-fi in the classroom, and games-based learning.

Writer. I’m currently querying three fantasy novels and several short stories in fantasy and sci-fi. One of my stories was a finalist in the Writers of the Future contest (1st quarter, 2025).

Worldbuilder. One of the joys of writing fantasy and science fiction is creating worlds to write stories in. I use collaborative world building and analysis in the classroom to help students understand how place influences plot and characters in literature.

Other. I have a master’s degree in theological studies from Harvard University. I roast my own coffee in a modified popcorn popper.
